This chapter about the Chathamkulangara family throws light on its origins. The Chathamkulangara family, of late Kunjunni Ezhuthachan, is believed to have originated from Chulanur, a small village in Pazhambalacode Panchayath in the Palakkad District of "God's Own Country" – Kerala. Chulanur is famous for a Peacock Sanctuary which is surrounded by small hills and partially by forests. The scenic village even contains plenty of paddy fields.

As a result of the Chathamkulangara family’s very old lineage, there now exists several branches of the family spread across Kerala, especially in the two districts of Palakkad and Thrissur.
